Acadia National Park in Maine

Acadia National Park is unique because it is located on an island (Mount Desert Island) off the coast of Maine.  The park has a lot to offer and in our short day and a half trip there, we took advantage of most of it.  We went on two hikes - one off the coast and one on Acadia Mountain, climbing the 681 ft elevated mountain.  We also went swimming in Echo Lake - so refreshing and drove around the entire Cadillac Mountain.  Definitely a park we want to come back to!
The view off the top of Cadillac Mountain.
Hiking along the coast.
"Thunder Hole" - where waves crash and supposidly create a thunder vibration.  Not so thunderous when we were there.
The only beach on the island, called "Sand Beach".
Lighthouse where the US Coast Guard and families still live.
