Washington DC

Micah and I drove the 13 hours from Acadia National Park in Maine down the coast to Washington DC in one drive, finally making it to DC at 2:30 am.  We stayed with one of my good friends, Tony Kunkle, who lives in Arlington, VA.  Us three literally spent about seven hours walking around Washington DC looking at all the different American monuments.  It was a super fun day, but insanely hot - it was 98 to 100 degrees all day long!

George Washington sitting between liberty and freedom.
Dome ceiling again in the US Capitol, in the Rotondum Room.
Micah next to Martin Luther King Jr statue.
The "Crypt" room in the Capitol - was intended for the burial site of George Washington, but is now just a room full of statues from the original 13 states.

Etched in the side of one of the entrances of the Capitol, reads "In God We Trust".
