Sacramento

We visited Old Town Sacramento, which is the old downtown, dating back to the 1860's.  Really beautiful downtown - lots of cute shops, old rustic saloon-type bars (reminds me of the Ungrodt bar in Waunakee :)) and large depot for the railroad.  Micah got his old fashion salt water taffy he likes so much!

More Yosemite Pics...

Yosemite National Park

Yosemite has been my favorite park so far we have visited on our journey... the majestic waterfalls, extremely tall Sequoia trees and the overall surrounding cliffs were quite the sites to see.  We camped their for two nights/two days... did a lot of hiking, visited the numerous waterfalls and created camp fires... all good clean fun.  Our camp site was filled with birds begging for food, deer came through it a few times, but thank God no bears came by... we were a little nervous about the bears because when talking to the park rangers they said a week prior a bear tore into a locked car because of the smell of a sunscreen bottle!

Bay To Breakers Run in San Fran

Bay to Breakers is an annual 12k run throughout the San Francisco city... about 60,000 people run it and the rest (like us) watched everyone.  The reason this race is so popular is because people dress up like it's Halloween and run.  Some people decide to wear their birthday suits in the race... very odd.  We had a great time with our friends, Alex, Jess & their cute little dog Marvin again watching the crazy race go by...

Tourists in San Francisco

We made it to San Francisco and were definitely the typical tourists... we drove on Lombard Street, which is the curviest street in America, went to Pier 39, ate some Giradelli chocolate, had a clam chowder bread bowl, walked across the Golden Gate Bridge, went to Hyaitt Street, Union Square and ate some amazing dim sung in China Town.  Very busy day and had a blast!  San Fran was so nice because we got to stay with an old friend of mine, Jessy Turner (now Queen) and her great husband, Alex, oh and their little dog, Marvin!  So much fun!

Driving on the Pacific Coast Hwy/Hwy 1 in CA

Driving on the PCH is absolutely amazingly beautiful...we drove the PCH North from San Diego to San Francisco.

Camping at Montana De Oro, off the PCH/Hwy 1 in CA

Last Day in LA

Our last day in LA was another great day... we went to a Dodgers game, vs the CO Rockies - Dodgers won!  Then we hung out with Trent and his girlfriend, Laura - such a great time grilling out with them.  We also got to see the house that was in Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video... the old house you see here!

The other picture on here is in front of the "In-N-Out Burger" sign - Micah and I made a rule for the trip that we cannot eat at any fast food restaurant, with the exception of In-N-Out.  We have probably eaten here way too much so far!

Runyon Canyon - overlooking Hollywood

Busy Day in LA..

We (Micah, Gwen and I) did a lot of fun LA stuff today... started the day with walking around "The Grove" - a huge farmer's market with quaint shops and food stands... ate some pretty amazing Middle Eastern food!  Our next stop was Runyon Canyon - a cliff we hiked up that overlooked the LA valley - amazing view because we could see downtown LA and downtown Beverly Hills/Bel-Air in one view.  The next stop was Hollywood Blvd - checked out the Chinese Theatre, of course the stars on the sidewalk, the Kodak Theatre and unfortunately was forced to take a picture with the creepy Elvis impersonator!  The next stop was then the Getty Museum, which is an architectural beauty, with surrounding gardens, prestine art galleries, that overlooks another view of the LA valley.  The next stop was LAX airport to pick up Gwen's boyfriend, David and then In & Out Burger!!!  LOVE that place!  We made it back to Gwen's and went to a few local pubs in Hermosa Beach.  Man - what an awesome day it was!!!
